| Shopify Connectivity | Before SkuVault limited to 1 Shopify per account - required 3 separate accounts and shared logins | All 3 Shopify stores connected and managed from a single SkuNexus instance |
| User Audit Trail | Shared logins across accounts destroyed audit trail - impossible to know who did what | Individual user accounts with full action logging across all brands |
| Order Routing | No proximity-based routing - orders fulfilled from fixed locations regardless of customer geography | Automated proximity-based routing sends each order to the nearest warehouse with available stock |

| User Licensing | Per-user fees across three separate accounts multiplied operational cost | Unlimited users on a single platform at no additional per-seat cost |
| Brand Visibility | Inventory and orders siloed by brand - no cross-brand operational view | Unified dashboard with brand-level filtering and cross-location inventory visibility |

## About Multi-Brand Outdoor Retailer

This retailer operates three distinct outdoor and cycling brands, each with its own Shopify storefront and customer base. West Coast, Midwest, and East Coast warehouse locations allow the business to serve a national customer base with reasonable shipping times. At peak, the combined operation processes over 12,000 orders per month across Shopify, Amazon, and eBay.

Managing three brands across three warehouses and sales channels creates operational complexity. Their previous stack - SkuVault, ShipStation, and ChannelAdvisor - had served them at lower volume, but issues arose as the business grew.

## The Challenge

The core problem was architectural. SkuVault only allows one Shopify store connection per account, meaning three brands required three separate accounts. This situation led to staff sharing login credentials to manage inventory and orders. Shared logins resulted in a destroyed audit trail and an inability to track inventory adjustments or orders reliably.

Additionally, there was no proximity-based order routing. Customers ordering from distant warehouses resulted in higher shipping costs and longer delivery times. ChannelAdvisor added another layer of complexity with Amazon and eBay channels.

## Why SkuNexus

SkuNexus eliminates per-account limitations, allowing unlimited Shopify store connections without shared credentials. Proximity-based routing evaluates inventory at each warehouse and ensures orders are fulfilled from the nearest location to minimize shipping distance and cost. The unlimited user model allows each staff member to maintain their credentials, ensuring accountability through an automatic audit trail. Channel management is unified, negating the need for an additional integration layer.

## The Implementation

### Multi-Store Shopify Unification

All three Shopify storefronts are connected to a single SkuNexus instance. Orders flow into a unified queue that can be filtered by brand. Real-time inventory updates prevent overselling risks.

### Proximity-Based Routing Logic

Each order is assessed against inventory at all three warehouse locations. Routing decisions, traditionally manual, are now automated, ensuring optimal fulfillment points based on geographic proximity and availability.

### Amazon and eBay Channel Integration

Both channels connect directly to SkuNexus. Inventory levels sync across all channels in real time, and orders are processed through a unified workflow.

### User Management and Audit Trail

All team members have their own credentials with designated access. Every action is logged to a named user, ensuring a transparent audit trail permanently.

## The Results

With all brands, warehouses, and sales channels operating from a single platform, the fragmented stack is eliminated. Proximity-based routing has improved shipping efficiencies and order delivery times. The audit trail is now robust and provides management visibility into all operational activities. As order volumes increase, the system continues to scale effectively.
